YELENA ARSHAKYAN

Filmmaker

Yelena Arshakyan was born on July 2, 1984 in Yerevan. She has received secondary education in number 162 school after Siamanto in Yerevan. From 2001-2007 she has studied at the directing department of Yerevan State Institute of Theatre and Cinematography in the studio of RA National Artist Hrachya Gasparyan. Since 2004, she has worked in the Public TV Company of Armenia as a scriptwriter of entertainment programs. In 2007, the program ''Interface'' was representing "New Wave" music and entertainment channel and Elena was the co-author and TV host of this program. In 2014 Public TV Company of Armenia broadcasts "Our Village" TV series composed of 16 parts, which tells about everyday problems, concerns and human relations of the village. The heroes of this TV series are ordinary people who live next to us. RA Honored Artists Davit Hakobyan, Ara Deghtrikyan, Julieta Stepanyan, popular and well-known actress Sophia Sargsyan have their participation in this TV series. The creative staff of this TV series soon represents ‘ 'Our village'' feature film to the audience, which is presented to International Film Festivals "Golden Apricot", "Woman" and "Nur" international film festival in Canada. In the international film festival ‘'Nur'' the film won two awards - "The Best Film of the Year" and "Audience Choice".
